At Victoria ER 24 Hour Emergency Center, we want to remind you to try to be prepared as possible for when an emergency strikes. We know every situation is different, so the needs of your family can be assessed as such too. Our staff wants you to know we’re keeping you in mind as we all begin to prepare for another season of possible natural disasters. Below we have provided a list of important things to consider in the event of a hurricane or tropical storm.

  1. Select a common meeting place for all family members to gather as well as have an evacuation plan for your pets.
  2. Prep an emergency kit and have a supply of water, flashlights, batteries, candles, lighters, & canned goods in case your city is placed under a mandatory evacuation order.
  3. Keep important documents such as legal papers, marriage licenses, birth certificates and insurance policies in a safety deposit box or stored somewhere they’re kept away from harmful elements.
  4. Keep your car’s gas tank filled, charge your mobile devices, test all generators, and keep extra fuel in case of power outages.
  5. Secure the exterior of your home by boarding up windows & move patio furniture and potted plants indoors.

It’s important to look ahead and gather supplies early and gradually as last minute preparations can leave your family without basic necessities. Victoria ER 24 Hour Emergency Center is bringing the gold standard in medicine to the Crossroads. Experience the latest in advanced medical treatment with the addition of a new IV treatment for patients with COVID-19 and the arrival of on-site PCR COVID-19 Testing in the Crossroads area. The integration of modern diagnostics and testing will allow us to adapt seamlessly to the needs of our local population.

Victoria ER is honored to begin conducting PCR COVID-19 Testing at our on-site laboratory. PCR testing is the most specific and most sensitive testing method for detecting Coronavirus, and with the addition of this technology at our facility, we can provide our patients with same day result accuracy. This CDC preferred testing method is available 24 hours at Victoria ER for all individuals whether its for travel, medical procedures, work, or school.

We have been providing our community with PCR COVID-19 testing throughout the pandemic, but we no longer depend on off-site laboratories to receive patient specimens and deliver your test results. At the peak of the pandemic, patient PCR Test results took up to 10 days to receive in an off-site lab. Victoria ER’s ability to manage 24-hour, on-site PCR Testing allows our staff control to give you results within the same day of your PCR COVID-19 Test.

Victoria ER 24 Hour Emergency Center can help you combat the virus within a few hours with antibody IV therapy drug (bamlanivimab and etesevimab), to treat mild-to-moderate COVID-19 in patients ages 12 and up. Bamlanivimab and etesevimab, administered together, has been granted Emergency Use Authorization from the FDA as it has shown a decrease in hospitalizations in patients diagnosed with COVID-19 by directly blocking the virus’ ability to attach and enter human cells.

This new technology reduces the risk of exposure by diagnosing patients within 15 minutes, allowing for the most optimal development for COVID-19 results by receiving close to real time feedback from the collection of nasal cavity swabs.

Every patient who receives COVID-19 Rapid Testing at Victoria ER will know whether they are positive or negative within 15 minutes of the Sophia SARS Antigen FIA technology running their nasal specimen. Quicker results allow those who are tested to take serious precautions immediately after receiving results, which in turn will help our community to stay COVID-19 safe.

  • No Appointment is needed to be tested for COVID-19. Please visit us when it is convenient for you and your loved ones as we are open 24 hours a day.

Victoria ER has the resources to send patient samples off for laboratory testing to confirm COVID-19 cases. The pandemic status for coronavirus has allowed for limited testing throughout local facilities, but patients will be screened by Victoria ER physicians, and will be tested appropriately.

The following measures will be instituted at Victoria ER 24 Hour Emergency Center:

  • If patients are exhibiting signs and symptoms of COVID-19, we ask that you call ahead at 361-573-1500 to prepare our staff for your arrival.
  • Victoria ER will ask you a few screening questions as you enter our facility. If our staff determines that you have symptoms, we will provide you with the proper personal protective equipment.
  • Patients are limited to one companion during this time, but no visitors will be allowed if the patient is under evaluation for COVID-19.

The men and women effected by cardiovascular disease participated in the fashion show and told their stories that emotionally moved those who attended. Each survivors’ speech shared one major thing in common, how to commit to a healthier heart journey in their daily lives by simply:

  2. Eating smart.

    Adding colorful fruits & vegetables to your diet will help prevent chronic illnesses.

  3. Managing blood pressure.

    High blood pressure is known as the ‘silent killer.’ The higher your blood pressure, the greater your risk for future health issues.
